IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST ~ The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the full time position of IT Support Specialist in the IT department. This position is responsible for providing technical support services for City employees including the set up and maintenance of PC’s, hardware and software. Other duties include but no limited to:
Provides for adequate maintenance of City computer hardware; Sets up, deploys and participates in movements and user configurations of each department. May be assigned additional duties for LAN support, toubleshooting for servers, hardware and operating systems and providing assistance with network design, backup and control of the LAN environment. Installs new hardware and software products.
Maintains working knowledge of hardware and software used by the City. Provides support to users including troubleshooting, repair and training as assigned; Sets up and maintains PC workstation configurations as appropriate based on departmental needs; Interfaces with hardware vendors for installation and parts replacement of computer equipment.
Troubleshoots LAN, WAN, printer, PC, telephone company, etc., network problems as assigned; Meets objectives/goals as determined by the IS Manager; Provides after hours and weekend support as needed.
Two to three years’ experience as a PC support Specialist and demonstrated ability to provide leadership to team members.
Strong knowledge of Windows and DOS PC operating systems, PC hardware and components and software installation procedures and in remote offices, LAN/WAN, networks, telephone switches, other telecommunications systems, (VOIP) ITO, Word and Excel software, LAN protocols (TCP/IP and Net BIOS, WINS, DNS and DHCP.
Salary and benefits beginning at $35.000.00, depending on experience, education, and other training.

COURT MAGISTRATE ~ The City of Pelham is currently accepting applications for the position of Magistrate in the Municipal Court department. In this position, the Magistrate must be able to maintain confidentiality and multi-task in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment. Other duties include, but are not limited to processing new cases and entering documents into the computer; preparing court dockets, including coordinating with various agencies and issuing subpoenas for witnesses; attending court five (5) nights per month; taking depositions, determining probable cause, and issuing warrants; administering domestic violence and initial appearance hearings with inmates; answering phone calls and assisting the public with various needs; balancing daily cash receipts; and completing other duties as required for the Municipal Court.
Applicants with certification as a Magistrate are preferred, but not required. Speaking a foreign language is helpful, but not required. Each applicant must be a registered voter. Applicants must also satisfactorily pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.
The starting salary begins at $39,200.00 depending of certification, education, and experience.
