Alabama’s largest state park, Oak Mountain State Park, is right in Pelham’s backyard. Scenic hiking trails, horseback riding, a petting farm for youngsters, fishing, boating and golf are just a few of the activities offered at this beautiful park located on 10,000 acres. Visitors are welcome at the Pelham Civic Complex & Ice Arena for a session of ice skating, or if tennis is your game, the Pelham Racquet Club will be happy to schedule a match. The American Village, just 15 minutes from Pelham, is one of Alabama’s best-kept secrets. It is a nationally pioneering civic education center and historical village. Exact replicas of colonial buildings offer visitors the opportunity to step back to a time when our country was founded. Interpreters dressed in period costumes offer insight into historical events from the past.

The city park offers a wonderful playground for children, a walking track and picnic areas.
