The City of Pelham will celebrate the start of the holiday season with our annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Pelham Civic Complex.
Guests to the event will enjoy caroling at the entrance by the Pelham High School Choir and Pelham High School Jazz Ensemble will play in the main arena beginning at 6:15 p.m. The program starts at 6:30 p.m. Choirs from Valley Elementary, Valley Intermediate, Riverchase Middle and Pelham High Schools along with the Riverchase Middle School Band and Pelham High School Jazz Ensemble will provide holiday music for everyone to enjoy. The Pelham Fire Department Color Guard and representatives from Boy Scouts of America Troop 404, Pelham, AL will present colors.
Cast members from the Alabama Youth Ballet’s The Nutcracker will be in the lobby in costume to welcome attendees and for photos. They will perform a selection from The Nutcracker later that evening in the Main Arena.
Members of the Pelham Mite Under 8 Division will showcase their skills and students from the Pelham Skate School and the Birmingham Figure Skating Club will dazzle you with performances on ice.
Santa Claus will be available for our youngest residents from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. and will make his grand entrance followed by a free ice-skating session for all students. Hot cocoa, apple cider and cookies will be provided and served by the PHS Culinary Arts Program in the ballroom with Christmas music provided by DJ Thomas Nails. Pelham Beautification Board members will be giving away 1,000 Pelham Christmas commemorative ornaments at the door, a wonderful collectible for those in attendance.

The Pelham Christmas Tree Lighting is free to the public and sponsored by the City of Pelham and the Beautification Board. Come out for an evening of holiday cheer for the entire family.
