The Pelham Fire Department offers emergency and non-emergency services to the community. Founded in 1964 as a volunteer organization, the Pelham Fire Department evolved into a combination department, and in 1984 into a full-time department. The Pelham Fire Department currently employs 80 personnel. Emergency services include fire, medical, and those situations deemed special in nature: Trench Rescue; High Angle Rescue; Swift Water/Dive Rescue; and Response to Hazardous Materials. All Fire Department personnel are qualified at the Basic Emergency Medical Technician level with 67% of all personnel qualified at the Paramedic level. Non-Emergency services include building plan reviews, fire code enforcement, fire cause determination, and public education.
We are committed to meet the needs of our citizens; to conduct ourselves as professionals, with compassion and efficiency.
