Our annual spring clean-up day gives Pelham residents an opportunity to discard items Waste Management normally will not pick up, such as broken lawn furniture, swingsets, household furniture, and some large appliances.  Certain items WILL NOT BE PICKED UP.  These include hazardous materials such as paints, insecticides, batteries, tires, refrigerators, freezers, gas grills or other like items.

Items must be curbside by 7 a.m. Saturday, April 9.

Please recycle unwanted items in good condition by contributing them to a local charity.  You may call the Salvation Army pick-up line at 252-8151 or Hannah Home at 856-1234.

The Shelby County Landfill offers two free days each year for residents.  The 2005 dates are April 9 and October 8.  The landfill does not accept toxic materials.  If you have questions, call the landfill at 669-3737.
