The existing civil service list for the hiring of firefighters has expired. A basic entry civil service qualification examination will be given on July 18, 2005 in order to establish a new list from which to hire future Pelham Firefighters.

Those wishing to participate in this examination must complete a City of Pelham Fire Department Application for Employment.  This application is not the same as a pre-application.  Applications will be available at Pelham Fire Station # 1, 3162 Pelham Parkway (behind city hall), beginning at 8 A.M., Tuesday, July 5, 2005.  Applications will only be issued on weekdays and during normal business hours, 8 A.M.- 5 P.M.  Applications will not be issued beyond the end of business, Tuesday, July 12, 2005.

Applications will be turned in the day of the examination.  This examination will be administered by the City of Pelham Human Resources Department and will be held at the City of Pelham Civic Complex located at 500 Amphitheater Road on July 18, 2005.

Sign-in and application submittal will begin at  9 A.M. The test will begin at 1 P.M.  Applications will not be submitted and no one will be allowed access to the test area once the examination has started.

Given our service delivery, and the current and projected needs of the City of Pelham, preference may be given to those applicants holding advanced levels of emergency medical training, certification and licensure.
