Georgia Tech Hockey Team to play at Pelham Civic Complex
8/25/2005  September 16-18 Georgia Tech Training Camp at Pelham Civic Complex

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket hockey team opens their '05-'06 season with Training Camp in Pelham at the Civic Complex Sept 16 - 18. Promoting hockey in the South has been a tradition at GT for 32 years, and bringing a big game feel to the Pelham area holds a promise of excitement.

The 'Jackets will open all their on-ice practices to the public, free of charge, starting Friday night at 10pm.  Saturday's full-squad sessions begin at 1:15pm, 5:30pm,  and 10:30pm. "Goaltenders Only" practice runs from 4-5pm. Veteran players and freshmen prospects will be available for autographs after every practice.  Youth coaches are free to film and note all drills.  Tech merchandise, our major source of funding, will be on sale throughout the weekend.

Sunday, the team wraps up camp with a controlled scrimmage from 11am -12:30pm. Immediately following the scrimmage, the BYHL will host a free youth clinic for aspiring players interested in continuing their hockey careers at the university level.  Midget and bantam players will have a chance to showcase their skills on ice with GT players and coaches for 12:45 - 1:30pm.  The younger aged groups will step on the ice for the last half of the clinic, which ends at 2:45pm.  Educational information about the American Collegiate Hockey Association (http://www.achahockey.org/), and GA Tech hockey recruiting (http://www.gthickey.com/) will be available to parents during the clinic.

As a founding member of the ACHA's Division III program, and one of its 130 D-III team, the Yellow Jackets are proud to be part of the fastest growing hockey league in the nation.  Tell you friends, and fans to come down, bring you kids and skates, and enjoy a good time with GT players, parents, coaches, and alumni.  In addition, the GT Jr 'Jackets 18-U Travel A team will hold their mini-camp at the rink Saturday from 3-5pm, followed Sunday with a scrimmage game against Birmingham midget, 8:30-10am
