The Ballantrae Challenger women's professional tournament concluded this Sunday at the Pelham Racquet Club. Zuzana Zemenova came thru qualifying to win seven matches in the last week and upset tournament #1 Olga Poutchkova in the final to claim the Ballantrae title. Both players swapped breaks in the first two sets before the Baylor freshman prevailed with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-0.

In the doubles final Liga Dekmeijere and Natallia Dziamidzenka defeated former Vanderbilt University team-mates Sarah Riske and Aleke Tsoubanos 7-5, 6-1.

Great play and fine weather made for a terrific afternoon for the appreciative spectators at the Pelham Racquet Club. Congratulations to all winners and finalists and thanks to the great patrons this week. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
