The top women touring professional tennis players will return to Pelham this Spring for the $25,000 Challenger on the USTA Pro Circuit schedule. A new time for this event will see the pros vying for the prize money and the points to get their ranking positioned for the French Open that begins in May. The ITF mandated that all clay court tournaments must precede the French Open in 2006 and the new date for the Pelham event is April 2nd thru the 9th.

The Challenger tournaments are just one tier under the very top professional events and all of the top players have earned their way there thru the Challenger schedule. The previous tournaments here provided very intense competition and top flight play from these athletes.

Qualifying rounds will be played on Sunday the 2nd and Monday with main draw matches starting on Tuesday, April 4th. Plan to come out several times during the week and enjoy world class tennis up close.
