Paul Andrzejewski, General Manager

Paul directs the Ballantrae Golf Club operations.  He grew up in Buffalo, New York and has been a resident of Alabama for 39 years.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Alabama and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Montevallo.  Paul taught and coached at the high school level 23 years before coming to work for Pelham.  Paul began his career at Pelham in January of 1997 as the General Manager of the Civic Complex.  Paul transferred to Ballantrae Golf Club as the General Manager in August of 2004.

Arthur "Butch" Byrd Jr., Director of Golf, PGA

Butch joined the Ballantrae team December 1, 2005 and is in charge of overall Club operations.  Butch came to Ballantrae from the NorthRiver Yacht Club in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he served for 17 years in various capacities including Director of Golf and Recreation, Director of Club Operations, and most recently, General Manager.  Previous to NorthRiver, Butch was the Head Golf Professional and Club Manager at the Eglin Air Force Base Golf Club in Niceville, Florida for 17 years.  Butch is a class A member of the PGA of America and has been active nationally with the PGA, serving as the southeastern representative to the PGA, Board of Control from 1997-2000.  He is currently serving as Chairman of the National Membership Committee.  Butch has received several awards from the PGA including Chapter Professional of the Year in 1994, Section Professional of the Year in 1995, and was inducted into the PGA Section Hall of Fame in 2004.  Butch earned a B.S. degree from Auburn University and was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Army in 1971.  He is married to his wife Carole and they two grown children, Kristi and Betsy and two Grandchildren, Joseph and Belle.

Phillip Wright, Head Golf Professional, PGA

As Head Golf Professional Phillip Wright will be responsible for all golf operations including hiring the golf staff, teaching lessons and clinics, conducting junior programs, providing merchandise for the golf shop and coordinating golf events. Wright, previously the General Manager at the Capstone Club, brings to Ballantrae more than 18 years of PGA golf experience.   His previous employment also includes the Head Golf Professional at the Tuscaloosa Country Club and the Assistant Golf Professional at the Augusta Country Club located in Augusta, Georgia.  Phillip Wright earned a BS degree in Administrative Science from the University of Alabama in 1987.  He played college golf at Brevard Junior College and walked on at The University of Alabama in 1986.   Wright has competed in numerous
Dixie Section PGA tournaments with several top ten finishes and was a PGA Club Professional Championship regional qualifier in 1999.  Phillip is married to his wife, Rebecca, and they have three children; Caroline, age 11, Julia, age 9, and Andrew, who is 3.
