A public information meeting will be held at city hall on August 19 at 7 p.m. to distribute information about the West Nile Virus and discuss preventive measures.  The city has purchased larvicide tablets and will make them available to residents at the meeting.  The tablets kill mosquito larvae in standing pools of water and may be used by residents in their garden aquatic pools, retention ponds or areas that do not drain properly. 

The benefits vs. disadvantages of adulticiding operations (spraying) will also be discussed at the meeting.
