Pelham High School students in the Career Prep III and IV classes visited Pelham City Hall February 3 to learn more about municipal government and civic responsibilities.
The students, along with their teachers, toured the fire and police departments and the Pelham Public Library to get an inside look at the services they provide.
Mayor Bobby Hayes addressed the group focusing on their civic responsibilities, such as obeying laws, paying taxes, staying informed, voting, serving on a jury and serving in the armed forces. He also stressed the importance of one's personal responsibility to get an education and choose a career in order to provide for themself and their family.
