The Pelham Civic Complex has landed a franchise in the WHA2, a spinoff of a revived World Hockey Association, that will begin play in October. The Slammers will be the first in the area since the Birmingham Bulls of the East Coast Hockey League moved to Atlantic City, N.J. Slammers President Taylor Hall said, "Hockey has been part of this community for many, many years, and we feel like the Pelham Civic Complex offers so many advantages."
City officials are delighted to have professional hockey coming to Pelham.
