On January 30, 2003 Mayor Hayes and Racquet Club Director Ann Etheredge were presented a plaque signifying the Pelham Racquet Club as "Outstanding Tennis Facility for 2002". Wade Herren and Kruse Smith of the Herren Division of Welch Tennis were on hand for a brief ceremony, passing on the award they received for the Racquet Club at the USTCTBA national meeting.

This award is to distinquish facilties that are well above average standards both in design and construction. Achieving this status places the Racquet Club and Herren Tennis at the top of respected projects throughout the country.

This honor is a fitting compliment to the Outstanding Facility Award which the United States Tennis Association  bestowed upon the Racquet Club in December 2002.

Both awards are great recognition of a tremendous tennis facility we have to enjoy here in Pelham!
