School System

Pelham City Schools was formally established July 1, 2014, and is comprised of Valley Elementary, Valley Intermediate, Riverchase Middle and Pelham High Schools. Central Office and local administrators, parents and community stakeholders work collaboratively to provide students with the academics and career-ready skills needed to compete in today’s global society through Advanced Placement courses, dual enrollment opportunities with various colleges, extracurricular opportunities during the school day and through extended day opportunities, sports teams, fine arts programs and career and technical opportunities.

As the systems progresses, formalized academies will be offered at Pelham High School beginning in the 2015-2016 school year, which will consist of possibilities such as health science, engineering, hospitality and culinary arts, fine arts, business and entrepreneur, and leadership programs to further prepare students for college and career readiness. The City of Pelham continues to be a large supporter of the city school system. Through their leadership, a bond has been secured to assist with the construction of a new elementary school, Pelham Elementary. The Pelham community believes in its young people and is committed to providing a world class education program to help all students achieve their full potential.
